I'd like to share my experience too so far as a TH9 after new update.

The key factor for me is minimizing nexts so that there's less time and gold wasted on nexts=more raids=more loot; I still experience some 100+ nexts but it doesn't happen really often tbh, something like once a day or even less.
Now onto army comp, I've made a couple of setups: I've noticed that using giants it's a lot easier to get DE but Elixir piles up a bit slower because of increased army cost, while using barch gets you more elixir easily but less DE. Maybe it's just me, but I'd suggest that if you're looking mainly for gold and DE you should use gibarch, if you're looking mainly for gold and elixir you should use barch.
Gibarch army composition is:
2 Barracks Archers
1 Barrack Giants
1 Barrack Barbs
Barch army composition is:
2 Barracks Archers
2 Barracks Barbs

If I'm barching I usually split it in two waves instead of just one but it's really up to you.

Now range is really all that matters and I suggest you to find one in which you find yourself comfortable. I like it here because it provides wide variety of loot with lots of dead bases and if I wanna go ahead and do a Queen Walk myself I don't have to trophy push in order to get DE because the range is already good for me.
700 trophies is also a good range but I can't stand the fact that every time you log out you get +300 trophies because of trophy droppers..
